i love talking to the kind of people where you can feel that every word they say is coming from their heart. you can feel the sincerity of their “i miss you”. its something thrown around these days that it has lost its identity. but once he/she says it, it automatically comes back to life. you can feel their heart. and all it takes is a word or two.

The moon is a friend for the lonesome to talk to.

Mary Oliver, “Starlings in Winter”

Everything is a self-portrait. A diary. Your whole drug history’s in a strand of your hair. Your fingernails. The forensic details. The lining of your stomach is a document. The calluses on your hand tell all your secrets. Your teeth give you away. Your accent. The wrinkles around your mouth and eyes. Everything you do shows your hand.
Chuck Palahniuk, Diary (via elige)
If you would ask me what to study I would say, your Selves; and when you well had studied them, and then would ask me what to study next, I would reply, your Selves. He who knows well his lower Self, knows the illusions of the world, knows of the things that pass away; and he who knows his higher Self, knows God; knows well the things that cannot pass away. Thrice blessed is the man who has made Purity and Love his very own; he has been ransomed from the perils of the lower Self and is himself his higher Self.
Elihu, The Aquarian Gospel

When someone is seeking,” said Siddartha, “It happens quite easily that he only sees the thing that he is seeking; that he is unable to find anything, unable to absorb anything, because he is only thinking of the thing he is seeking, because he has a goal, because he is obsessed with his goal. Seeking means: to have a goal; but finding means: to be free, to be receptive, to have no goal. You, O worthy one, are perhaps indeed a seeker, for in striving towards your goal, you do not see many things that are under your nose.

Forget about enlightenment. Sit down wherever you are and listen to the wind that is singing in your veins. Feel the love, the longing and the fear in your bones.

Open your heart to who you are, right now, not who you would like to be. Not the saint you’re striving to become. But the being right here before you, inside you, around you. All of you is holy. You’re already more and less than whatever you can know.

Breathe out, look in, let go.

John Welwood (via truthofoneness)
The word “surrender” is often interpreted as giving up, as weakness, as admitting defeat. Although this is one way to use the word, we will use it in a different way. Surrendering means letting go of your resistance to the total openness of who you are. It means giving up the tension of the little vortex you believe yourself to be and realizing the deep power of the ocean you truly are. It means to open with no boundaries, emotional or physical, so you ease wide beyond any limiting sense of self you might have.
